How to activate your SAT Tax Mailbox (Buzón Tributario)?

The SAT issued a notice stating that anyone who has not activated their Tax Mailbox before December 31st will be subject to fines ranging from $3,420.00 to $10,260.

So if you want to avoid the hassle and activate your Mailbox, here's how to do it in 6 simple steps:

1.      Go to the SAT website (sat.gob.mx) and click the green button "Minisitio de Buzón Tributario" located at the bottom left of the page.

2.      Click on "Habilita tu Buzón" (Activate your Mailbox)

3.      Log in with your RFC and password or your Electronic Signature (e.firma), and register the contact methods you'd like to use, both email and cell phone.

4.      After that, you'll have 72 business hours to confirm your contact methods. To confirm your email, you'll need to click the link sent to your inbox, and for your cell phone, you'll need to enter the code you receive via SMS.

5.      To confirm the process, we recommend downloading your confirmation receipt. You can do this by logging into your Tax Mailbox and clicking on Mis expedientes or Mis comunicados.
